Got Blockages?

Coining a slightly modified phrase from Jimmy Buffet, “We all got 'em, We don’t want 'em, What do we do with 'em?” it’s a good question to ask. I’ve had them, these energetic blocks, sometimes called resistance. When someone raises a fuss with you, or when you have a negative thought, you feel the anxiety raise up in you. Countless books, and multiple processes have been written to counter such an event.

It’s happened so much to me, that one of my goals in life is the elimination of all resistance. That certainly is possible. Through my couple of months of focused meditation, and and through my couple months of focused meditation, and nearly three years of energy work, I have felt much lighter. I give some of the best techniques therefore to eliminate resistance. Some of these techniques may resonate with you, and that’s great. If some don’t, then don’t feel obligated.

A few of my recommendations before we start:

1) Find a quiet place, preferably outdoors.
2) Becoming a vegetarian can go a long way with releasing blockages, as meat tends to make the energetic body heavier.
3) Being able to visualize can help, but is not absolutely necessary. An intention for something can be effective.
4) Visualizing need not necessarily be visual. It can be auditory (hearing) or kinesthetic (feeling) or just a knowing.

Sitting or reclining in a comfortable position is a good way to start. We want to be comfortable to allow for the greatest anxiety release. It’s good to be as comfortable as possible without being so comfortable that you fall asleep. A lot of people recommend sitting with the back straight. This can go a long way for deeper meditative states, but it might be hard on the back muscles if you’re not used to this position. Also, sitting in the Lotus Position is not necessary. Sometimes I bring my left knee closer to me as if I were about to stand up, and rest my folded hands on my knee and keeping my other leg on the floor. It’s all up to you.

Begin with breathing, deeply and slowly, in and out. This alone can cause a good deal of relaxation. Try to focus on the breathing, and let any thoughts just pass. It’s hard to do at first, but persistence will make this much easier.

Then, a very powerful breathing involves breathing into your heart. When I sit outdoors, under a starry sky, in nature, below the trees, it really adds to the power. After about 15 mins or so, when I feel at good level, I love to use my hands as if I were pulling energy from around me into my heart. When I inhale, I pull my hands toward my heart slowly, palms facing me, as if I were gathering healing from around me. I breath this into my heart.

Then I hold this life-giving Oxygen in my lungs for a few seconds (I don’t count, I just hold), I then exhale, using my hands to push my breath out into Mother Earth. Mother Earth is phenomenal at transmuting energy. This means the tensions and anxieties we are exhaling can be absorbed and transformed by our planet into other energy forms that help sustain her. We are all in this together, and by healing ourselves, we heal each other.

Pretty soon into your meditation you may notice physical feelings of tightness in parts of your body. This was very strong with me in my heart and solar plexus. In fact, it was so strong that it hurt sometimes when I visually tried to “pull” out this anxiety.

These tensions and worries that manifest as discomfort in our body did not arrive overnight. So it reasons that they aren’t released overnight without a great deal of pain. I personally had taken 32 years to get where I was, and wasn’t about to try anything (if it were even possible) to let go of all of this in one fell swoop. I like to gently dissolve it, much like soap in water.

Another technique that is very powerful is raising vibration, and becoming one with everything. Without going into too much detail here, raising vibration really is about focusing on love. Love for everything around us, love for ourselves. I’ve sent love from my heart into a pain, and within minutes felt it dissolve away.

Becoming one with everything takes a little more effort. It’s about putting your mind aside, and just observing everything as a child would. Use innocent perception (as Jesus in Jesus Speaks says). Innocent perception is looking around and not pondering or questioning what you see. If something is blue, then it’s blue. Don’t analyze it or try to figure out why it’s blue. It just is! Becoming one by just being there is a phenomenal way to raise your energy.

What happens when you raise your energy enough? You see beyond the illusion of reality. This could spawn so many topics, but I will say here that the colors are much more brilliant, and it becomes easier to perceive the fluidity of reality. Seeing what is around me rippling like water can bring a tear to one’s eyes no matter how bad their day has seemed. It’s all about perception.

And how far can this go, I do not know. I don’t think anyone knows, because as one evolves, we all do. We are all in this enigmatic web of life, each doing our part. Whether we know it or not, we are most assuredly one.

The Ultimate Mind/Body Detox
by Colin C. Tipping

RADICAL Forgiveness The Ultimate Mind/Body Detox By Colin Tipping

Are emotions toxic? You bet they are! But ONLY when they are suppressed. Emotions fully felt and expressed actually strengthen the immune system. The movie Patch Adams reminds us that laughter is an example of how emotion heals.

A good working definition of an emotion is "a thought attached to a feeling." Since we need a body to register feeling and a mind to create thought, it follows that emotion is very much a mind/body phenomenon. It cannot be talked about in any other terms.

My skepticism about the reality of a mind-body connection vanished when I read the research about people with multiple personality disorder. I was shocked to learn that it is not unusual for a ˜multiple to exhibit all the symptoms of a particular disease like, for instance, diabetes when one particular personality is at-home, only to have the disease disappear as soon as a different personality takes over. Not only that, the new personality might exhibit symptoms for a completely different condition. The moment the other personality returns, the original disease reappears. And the switch can happen in minutes!

Even though cancer seems so intractable and so much a physical disease, there is probably no other illness so connected in peoples minds with the mind/body issue. Ever since O. Carl Simonton, MD., an oncologist, began working with guided imagery back in the 70s, the question of how much of a role the mind plays in both the causation and the progress of the cancer rages on.

Theres a huge amount written on the subject and the new science of psychoneuro-immunology is producing a great deal of scientific data to support the idea that thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and feelings all have a very big part to play. Emotions in particular have been shown to have a dramatic effect on the immune system - for better and for worse. Since cancer is a condition that arises out of an immune system compromise, it is not unreasonable to connect the onset of cancer with an emotional event that weakened the immune system.

However, it is not a question of whether the emotion is positive or negative. Its a matter of whether the emotions are allowed to flow freely through the body - or not. In this respect there is no such thing as a negative emotion. It only becomes negative - and toxic - when it is denied, suppressed or repressed. Thats when it can become a real killer. Society teaches us not to show emotions. Unfortunately, the price we pay for that insane lesson in ˜nice social behavior is enormous. It kills thousand of people each year.

A landmark study which is a well respected piece of research (Greer 1986), proves conclusively that the extent to which people tend to stuff their emotions as a strategy for dealing with life is a clear predictor of who will get cancer and who will not. (There are many other risk factors in cancer, of course, but besides this emotional one, the only other proven predictor is genetic predisposition).

My own experience with working with cancer patients bears this out. I have yet to meet a person with cancer who has not experienced either or both, (a) a severe loss that they havent properly grieved, or (b) an emotional trauma that they haven't yet fully processed, between two and seven years prior to the onset of their disease.

This might be the loss of a job, the death of a spouse, or a serious emotional shock that they just cant get over. Whatever it was, their strategy was to stuff the feelings. They buried the anger, guilt, shame and the hurt and largely went on with their lives. But deep down they carried a huge amount of resentment and were never able to forgive. (Forgiveness is always a big issue with cancer patients. I am clear that my workshops on Radical Forgiveness - and even my book - count as cancer prevention measures).

I have come to regard forgiveness as a ˜first-line primary treatment for cancer. Not alternative to standard medical treatment, but certainly adjunctive to it. I now know that anyone with cancer who doesnt include forgiveness in their treatment protocol is ignoring a huge part of the problem, if not the very cause of the disease itself.

Current medical methods of treatment for cancer, address symptoms only. Assuming the treatment itself doesnt kill the patient, it does at least buy them some time. The question then becomes - time for what?

Well, certainly not to go back to ˜business as usual. The message of cancer is always that theres something about our life that needs changing. Its up to each individual to decide what most needs altering, but in general terms, a sensible way to use that time is to do everything we can to detoxify our life. That means eliminating toxic foods from our diet. It means detoxifying our body. It means taking supplements to strengthen the immune system.

This much people now almost take for granted. But it not so well understood that all this is for nought if we dont also take drastic measures to clean out (detox), our emotional closet. It is absolutely crucial in my opinion, that we do this if a recurrence is to be avoided. (Even better that we do the emotional work as a way of preventing cancer happening in the first place).

But, doing emotional work seems to be scary for a lot of people and many wont go there. It's just too painful, they think. If only they knew how easy it generally is. Seldom do they carry trauma of the kind that requires deep psychological treatment and the re-experience of deep emotional pain. Mostly, it is a matter of having a compassionate professional therapist help them deal with the relatively ordinary problems that life dishes up from time to time. A betrayal, a death, a burglary, a bankruptcy, a failed relationship and so on.

It's amazing how much is achieved in just one counseling session. Just telling the story and being listened to is immensely healing in itself. Many have never before told their story. Immediately they become lighter and they feel so much better. Imagine how much better they feel after participating in a weekend Radical Forgiveness workshop or a 5-day Healing Retreat.

It just goes to prove what we have always known about the mind/body connection. That is, you can have all the medications, supplements and nourishing food in the world, but if the love connection isnt there, none of it matters. Love is the greatest medicine and the extent to which we are willing to open our hearts to other people is the degree to which we heal ourselves and those around us. Thats the real mind/body connection and in the last analysis, the only one that matters.

Meditation Advantages
by David Rodgers

The advantages of meditation are widely known, and as a practice it is garnering more and more respect amongst alternative and traditional medical professionals the world over. From high profile medical research through to the swelling body of empirical evidence, meditation is quickly becoming seen as a viable way to improve well-being and to achieve personal healing on a spiritual and physical way. In this article we'll look at some of the major advantages of meditation that you can enjoy after learning the process.

Inner peace On a spiritual level, meditation is the fastest and most complete way to achieve inner peace and find yourself. With meditation training you can become one with your emotions and your problems, and overcome any underlying insecurities or worries to achieve an unprecedented level of inner peace and harmony. By learning the basics of meditation, you too can benefit from the spiritual advantages brought about by achieving a greater level of inner peace and well being in your own spare time, whilst enjoying the long-term health benefits of meditating.

Cure illness Study after study coming from top worldwide research institutions is showing undeniably that meditation can have an effect on overall well being. Add to that the piles of anecdotal evidence available that suggest the overall benefits of meditation for numerous conditions and you've got yourself a powerful all natural remedy that can take as little or as much time as you like, and doesn't cost the earth. Used in conjunction with conventional medicines, there's no reason why your meditation shouldn't help you on your road to recovery.

De-stress Nowadays life can get tough, and we never seem to have enough time for anything. Why not escape from the stresses and strains of your daily routine by learning how to meditate, with a view to improving your overall well being and allowing you to completely relax and forget about your worries and troubles. For de-stressing after a hard day, there's nothing quite like a meditation session to realign the spirit and get you right back on track.

Decrease blood pressure Amongst some of the more prominent medical benefits of meditating, decreasing blood pressure comes naturally as one of the major upshots of a devoted meditating ritual to improve your general health and help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke linked with elevated blood pressure.

Improve airflow to the lungs Additionally, meditating on a regular basis can be a great way to improve the airflow to your lungs, which can eventually improve the flow of oxygen through the bloodstream which in turn can provide a wealth of health benefits off its own back, adding to the overall medical benefits of meditation.

Whilst it's not at first obvious to the outsider, those in the know about meditation understand exactly what it can do for the body, and the wealth of benefits it can bring once you learn the basic process and begin to establish a routine of meditation within your day to day life.

To Achieve Success You Must Eliminate Your Negative Subliminal Thoughts
by Michael McGrath

I am sure you are aware that your thoughts and feelings have a dramatic impact on your life. Whether you believe that your thoughts directly create your reality or just see them as guiding your actions, it is apparent that thoughts and feelings do play a major part in how we live our lives.

However, were you aware that the vast majority of your thoughts are subliminal in nature. They form a part of your belief system and contribute to your attitude and outlook on life.

Perhaps you are one of those people who have witnessed others achieve success but no matter what you do you cannot emulate their success. If this is the case then you certainly have subliminal resistance.

There are thousands of subconscious, subliminal programs that are active within your brain every moment of the day. These are either working to help you or are hindering you - working for you or against you. Chances are, if you're reading this and are not a member of the richest 2% of the planet, then you are like 98% of the rest of the planet and are unaware of these silent success killers.

Perhaps you are not aware that your brain and physiology are hard-wired for success. You were born a person who tries and succeeds. Just look at how you learned the seemingly impossible tasks of walking and talking. It never entered your infantile brain that you could not succeed yet, as an adult, with far greater intellect and reasoning skills; you are conditioned to accept failure and possibly believe it is pointless to even try.

From those early beginnings of being born a winner, slowly but surely, the world taught you how to fail. It is not natural for you to fail. Your natural state is one of success, joy and growth. You can regain that wonder you had as a child and that unshakable belief in yourself and your abilities. All you need do is identify those self-defeating patterns of thought and feeling which silently run on automatic in the background noise of your mind.

If you sit quietly and contemplate your beliefs and attitude towards your dreams and inner desires you will be shocked at just how much negativity you have allowed into your consciousness. It is unfortunate though that the negative thoughts we hold in mind are mostly subliminal, or subconscious, in nature. For the majority of people these are so subtle that they never even realize they have them. If you have not achieved the success you dream of or are not living your life with joy and appreciation for the things you have achieved then you are certainly carrying around a large amount of subliminal negativity.

Now these beliefs and patterns of negative thinking are not your natural state and were most certainly given to you, initially, by well-meaning parents and peers. However, if they are allowed to remain active within your mind they will cause havoc with your life and undo any attempts you make to create the life you desire.

At the end of the day it really does not matter where these negative thoughts came from or how they became a part of your belief system. You just need to identify them and then remove them!

Take a good look at what you have in life right now. This is your demonstration. Whatever you have in life or wherever you find yourself it is a direct result of how you think and feel about yourself and your place in the world. If you are content and like that then you have no need to change anything.

However, if you think there are areas that could be improved or even completely changed for the better then it is important for you to begin to understand exactly how you currently think and feel about those areas.

List all the important areas of your life, relationships, career, finances, health, hobbies and see what comes to mind as you contemplate how these things are now. This will show you how you have been thinking, feeling and creating up to this point.

It is also important to become conscious of how you are viewing yourself and how you are treating yourself internally. Most times when our life is not working in a way we want it to, it is merely because we are disapproving of ourselves in one form or another. Practise giving yourself some approval. Give yourself this approval for no particular reason, just make the decision and do it. It is a very pleasurable experience and can have dramatic positive affects that reverberate through your life.

When you have identified your negative views about yourself and your world and acknowledge that you have created your own experiences through your thoughts and feelings it is just a matter of reprogramming your mind. This can be achieved through such things as subliminal programming, hypnosis, sound technologies or just visualization.

Keep in mind that it is your natural state of being to be a winner. You were born that way and it is only your negative programming that hinders you from being, doing and having everything you desire. So begin to take stock of your beliefs by looking at your demonstration (those things, people, situations and circumstances that now surround you) and start to reprogram them. Practise giving yourself approval just because you want to! You don't need a reason. You disapprove of yourself for no reason most of the time so try turning that on its head for a change.

Take this approach to life and you will transform your world.

What we Believe
by Thomas Sweet, MBA, CH

...can be so true. Countless studies have been done on the human mind in terms of psychology, spirituality, and many other schools of thought. Henry Ford was fond of saying that whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Expanding this further, what we believe has a strong bearing on what we will become. Take the simple example of practicing a skill such as juggling. Maybe we are motivated to do such because not everyone else can. It is a well-known phenomenon of the human psyche to want to excel.

So we practice, possibly many hours a day, sometimes skipping days. Yet, even though we may get frustrated when we mess up; perhaps thinking that we are actually getting worse, we end up becoming very proficient. I use this example of juggling because I know first hand how tough the first three weeks were until I was able to juggle the three-ball cascade—the starting point of all good jugglers.

It becomes evident now that strictly positive thoughts all the time are certainly not required to get the job done. There is an unconscious side of us that represents as much as 90% of our ability to make change in our life. Fortunately, this makes it easier to steer our “destiny” so to speak. The practice, as mentioned before was a physical conditioning. The muscles get used to the repetition, and the mind then transitions from focusing on where each ball is in space to a more rhythmic approach.

This is a good observation because our life has a rhythm as well. We all are familiar with how we go through good and bad days, as we like to label them. If you try to define what's good and what's bad, or perhaps say why something is good or bad, you may unnecessarily be complicating the matter. Instead, seeing things happening from a more objective point of view can keep our emotions from getting flustered.

When we have our emotions in check then we can be more in tune with this rhythm or current of life. Rather than having it pull us around, we ride the waves, and actually have time to notice what is going on around us. This is the beginning of becoming aware of your surroundings. When we are aware of the outside, then we can become more aware within. This within is very important because it can objectify and reveal the 90% of our potential that is mostly unconscious.

Then it gets interesting because we begin to understand our beliefs. For instance, maybe you have a habit of eating all the food on your plate and do not know why. This may stem from a belief that when you were younger your parents would punish you if you didn't eat all your food. This belief had become hidden within the 90% of your potential, manifesting as a fact of life.

Now if we go back to the practice of juggling, and begin to understand that within our unconscious there may be hidden beliefs that are holding us back from progressing. What we believe, even unconsciously is what we will become. It is a good time as any to stop running on autopilot. When we begin to understand who we are through our beliefs, not only will our lives become much clearer, but we will have gained a multi-dimensional view of ourselves. With this understanding, we know that beliefs are not merely mental, but also physical, emotional, spiritual, astral, and project outward infinitely into the universe.
